Hello all,
I think its been covered here. but, i cant seem to find the information. Do any of y'all have any recommendations for wineries or tasting rooms that offer tastings in the Chateauneuf du Pape and Gigondas area?
devin. I can't help you with your question but you might get more help if you ask your question on the France forum. Bon chance!
Hi devin,
we were in Chateauneuf du Pape some years back on a tour, & visited the Brotte Winery there where we had a tasting of different wines, not sure if they were for that particular winery or if it was for the area wines. Coincidentally, I found one of the wines we tasted & brought back at Costco a few months after we returned! LOL I stocked up on a few more bottles to enjoy.
Many of them are only open with an appointment, so if you wind up getting specific recommendations, I'd call ahead. If you're up for tours, we did a private tour (though he does groups) with Wine Prestige Tour and it was amazing. Pierre is from Chataeuneuf du Pape and comes from several generations of wine makers. We went to four wineries between Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, and Rasteau with a beautiful lunch in the middle. I wish I'd done a better job of writing down which specific wineries we went to.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape the place is no more than a stoney village in arid, scented Provençal countryside, dominated by a ruined papal summer palace. This taste article sharing with youenter link description here
