UK trip - Wales specificially

Am looking for a little guidance on an October/November trip to the UK for 16 days. We are planning the first week of November in Northern Wales and am finding that a lot of places are closing end of October and unfortunately we cannot change our dates. I have two questions and am grateful for any advice concerning this. First question - does anyone know how seasonal northern Wales is - do a lot of places close at end of October? Second question - if staying for several days, would you recommend Conwy, Llandudo or Caernarfon for a base? They all look interesting and just wondering if someone has knowledge about any of the three or even a completely different recommendation.

Many thanks - S

You might get more replies if you post this in the forum for Wales rather than England.

Thank you both and I have moved the question to Wales. We will be coming from the Cotswold area and driving up through Wales with stops along the way but wanted to keep the main focus along the coastal area. Do you know if you can park inside the wall of Conwy?

Thank you so much for the specifics. I also enjoy holiday off season, as long as there is something there. However, next time, may pick a different time.

Last September local area friends took my husband and me to a wonderful ivy covered small building from the 15th c. which is now a tearoom in north Wales not far from where you'll be. The four of us had cream tea. It would be a perfect November afternoon adventure either for lunch or tea. It is Tu Hwnt i'r Bont located in Llanrwst. Here's the link: http://www.tuhwntirbont.co.uk/
Besides Conwy, which we enjoyed, also visit Beaumaris and go over to Anglesey across the lovely Menai Straights Bridge.

We liked Conwy very much, for its castle, the Plas Myr (sp?) house, the Liverpool Arms pub, and as a base for exploring north Wales in a sunnier season. Llandudno is a bit out of the way for a base -- as I recall there are multiple roundabouts between the town and the main highway, taking awhile to navigate. In Conwy we parked at a B&B outside the wall, it was a short walk into the center behind the walls. Caernarfon would be a good choice too, and closer to Anglesey, Harlech, and Portmeiron. It's the start of a short railway running south through the Snowdon foothills, but that might be closed in November.

Chester is also worth a day's visit if you have time -- walls, cathedral, streets full of half-timber houses, good Roman museum.
