There are adozens of threads on this forum about Afternoon Tea in London. The Wolseley is always highly spoken of and is very reasonably priced, as is Fortnum & Mason's afternoon tea, but there are many more. Here are a few of those threads you might want to check out.

Check Orange Peoke in Barnes.

Also all the major hotels have an afternoon tea. Simply depends on how much you are willing to pay. The Berkeley, Brown’s, The Goring, The Dorchester.

An afternoon tea on every corner! The research is half the fun.
The last time I had tea in London was at the Grosvenor Hotel's Park Room. Lovely.

Agree that this is a helpful site, and it lists offers: https://afternoontea.co.uk/

I wouldn't call F&M's tea "reasonably priced" but it is wonderful and the savory one can take the place of dinner. And despite the elegant environment, you don't have to dress up.

If you’re going to the British Museum, one of their cafes (forget which one) has afternoon tea. I wanted to do one and my travel buddy didn’t, so we compromised on that one while we were visiting the museum. You should still make a reservation. It was reasonably priced and was a nice opportunity to rest our feet.

I did the Wicked (musical) themed afternoon tea at The Clermont Victoria (attached to Victoria Station) in May 2024, and really enjoyed it. They also have a classic afternoon tea as well, but there is not a difference is price. The only real difference is the desert selection, but the menus for both are on their website. There seems to be options for the days that you are there.

The Clermont Victoria is also a short-ish walk (about 10 minutes) from Buckingham Palace.

In 2025 I enjoyed a wonderful tea with my daughter and granddaughter at the Library at County Hall. It is right by the Westminster Bridge, and our table had a view of the Thames, Big Ben, and the Westminster Bridge. It is located in the London Marriott County Hall. Since there is a lot of food at the tea we made a reservation for 12:00 noon so that it could be our lunch. We loved it!
