South Kensington Lodging

I am looking for recommendations for lodging in South Kensington for 2-3 nights, that won't break the bank. :-)

The Millennium Gloucester is a good choice. Around the corner from a tube station and reasonably priced.

Not sure what the bank breaking point is, but we’ve stayed at the Radisson Blu on Cromwell Rd, the Bailey’s, and the Ashburn. Each is within a 2 minutes walk of the Gloucester Rd. Tube stop and have different price points. Time of year will make a difference.

There are a number of other hotels in the area. A generally more budget friendly hotel near that tube stop is the ibis Styles London Gloucester Road. Another budget friendly hotel between the Gloucester Rd. and Earl’s Court tube stops is Premier Inn London Kensington (Earl's Court) hotel.

I second the recommendation for The Resident Kensington. If you sign up for membership (free), you will get 15% off your booking.

I third the rec for The Resident hotels. Keep in mind that I have not yet stayed there, but I'm booked at The Resident Victoria for early spring of next year, and it looks really nice. I chose it because of the excellent reviews I read by a lot of seasoned London travelers on this forum (I've included a few below).

I have stayed at The resident Kensington hotel and I would return

matter of fact I have a reservation for next month. Very nice front desk, great rooms, nice kitchenette, good location and it was very affordable for the quality in London

As the person who, according to the management of the Resident Kensington, holds the record for the number of total nights, I only have good things to say about the Resident Kensington.

One bit of warning, I was there a couple of weeks ago and they hinted prices will be going up after the first of the year.

If you are looking for budget, this isn't it. I'd suggest one of the Premier Inns. The chain just announced business has not been great and they plan to lower prices.
