5 0r 6 of us (2 couples and possibly 1 or 2 single ladies) will be spending 3 nights in London prior to 8 day Rick Steve’s Scotland tour in May of 2027. We love the Gloucester Road/Kensington area of London. We love the Bailey Hotel but pretty pricey. Any suggestions to check out?

leaves1, we used the company Ivy Lettings for a flat rental a few years back. They were really great about communicating and very quick to address a minor issue that happened in the flat on the weekend. I would definitely use them again for a stay of more than a night or two. I don’t know what your price point is, but a quick search of their website in the Kensington area brought up a few places that sleep 6. Here’s one as an example:

You can search their website by filtering the area of London, how many the flat accommodates, other amenities, etc.

I don't have a recommendation to offer as I have only stayed at the wonderful Bailey's in that area.
But, with 2 couples plus 1 or 2 additional persons for only 3 days, I would not book an apartment unless you can find one with 3 bathrooms.
And if traveling the later part of London, I would also advise accommodations with AC.
How are you traveling from London to Inverness? Train or fly? Your method of transportation may open up other areas to stay.

Fraser Suites has two locations about a five minute walk from Baileys. There is also a Citadines up Gloucester Road. The Ember Locke is located on Cromwell Road between Gloucester Road and Earls Court Road.
These are aparthotels.

This is my favorite place to stay in London. 68 Glouster Street Pimlico, London.
Ground floor flat is 2 bedroom, 2 bath. Upstairs flat is 1 bedroom, 1 bath.
You could rent both if 6 of you or just ground floor if 4. (Sofa bed for #5 in living room, but that makes space a bit tight) Books up in advance.

I stayed at the Ember Locke Kensington in April and had a good experience. My room had a kitchen and a washer/dryer. There's a coffee bar in the lobby which I frequented as well as a full-service restaurant (no experience with that). A quick walk to the Earl's Court Tube station and the bus stop was literally right outside the hotel door. It was also quiet at night, except for the time a guest cooked a steak at midnight and set off the fire alarm.
