Apartment Style Hotels - London

Hello everyone!

My best friend and I are taking our first trip to London this year and have been combing through Rick’s guidebook, which has been incredibly helpful! However, I’ve been having a difficult time trying to find a place to stay that is similar to Vancouver Studios. Ideally, more than one bed and a kitchen area is what we are looking for. And while Vancouver Studios seems to be the choice, I was wondering if anyone knew of other places that were similar, just to see what our options might be!

Thank you so much! I appreciate any and all help!

My parents had a good stay in London at Citadines. It is a chain of apartment hotels. They have several London locations. My parents stayed at the South Kensington property, near the V&A and Natural History Museums. That is conveniently by the South Kesington tube stop with service from Heathrow airport. The website explains even the studio (smallest) apartments can have full bed or two twin beds.

Vancouver Studios is a very nice characterful budget choice but there are a lot of others. Also think about whether you want a studio (kitchen right there in the bedroom) or a flatlet with a separate room. Some of these brands will have choices of both.

Anyway, here are a few chains to look at:

Locke (I have Locke at Broken Wharf bookmarked for a future stay)
Native (I’ve twice stayed in a lovely property near Monument which they don’t seem to have anymore, but I was very pleased with the quality and service).
The Resident Hotels (mostly studio rooms rather than flats, I think but they have great locations)
Citadines (quality is mixed - I found the Trafalgar Square one dingy but I liked the Barbican one)
Studios 2 Let - a more budget option

Each has numerous locations.

My husband and I stayed at Cheval Harrington Court in October 2024. It's in South Kensington, just down the street from the tube station. We stayed in a studio (it had a full kitchen), but they have 1 and 2 bedroom flats as well. We loved it. They have maybe 4-5 locations around London. Enjoy your trip! It was our first time in London as well and we can't wait to go back.

A second vote for Cheval Harrington Court. We stayed a week in December 2024. Great location, staff, and even in a studio plenty of space to spread out and relax. The daily housekeeping and in room laundry is a plus.
