We will end our vacation by taking a train back to London from Bath. We will have already spent a week in London and are looking for a hotel that will be convenient for the last leg of our journey. Our train from Bath arrives in London on a Wednesday night and we need to leave for Heathrow at 7am the next morning. Looking for a hotel that is walking distance from Paddington station, decent and budget-friendly. Any suggestions?
Forum members seem to like the new Premier inn that is right next door to the station. Both the Elizabeth line and the more expensive Heathrow Express will get you to Heathrow.
Define budget friendly.
There’s a Hilton right across the road and a Premier Inn next door.
Personally I like 63 Bayswater which is a 10-15 minute stroll away. It’s across the road from the Lancaster Gate entrance into Hyde Park.
Here is a review I posted about a recent stay near Paddington:

I wonder if you would be better off going directly to Heathrow from Bath and staying at a hotel in your departure terminal.
National Express offers coach service:

If your goal is to spend the last night in London, then this works. I also read good
things about Stylotel located on Sussex Gardens.
If you do as G3rryCee suggests and take the bus to/stay at LHR, you can have a more
relaxing night and wake up a fair bit later (I assume your flight is at 10 or 11 if you
think you have to leave for the airport from Paddington at 7, and your flight isn't
at 7).
If you do end up staying around Paddington, Heathrow Express is only 10 GBP
if you buy the ticket 45 days ahead of time. A bit faster and maybe a bit cheaper
than using the Elizabeth Line.
