HELP!! How do I get around London

Hi,
I have set up a wonderful trip in London for me and my daughter. Lots of Day trips and walking tours. Now I realize I have no idea how to get to the meeting points. And it seems like I can no longer purchase a travel card, as I will not receive it at my home in time.
I am leaving in 6 days.
We are staying at the Best Western Shaftesbury Paddington court on Devonshire terrace and 2 of our tours meet at Euston station.
Does anyone not how to get to Euston by bus and how to get a travel pass this close to departure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From hotel to Paddington Station is 1/3m
From Paddington, bus 205 heading to Bow ,goes every 7mins or so.
15 min journey time.
Goes right to Euston.,well 400ft from station.

Buying a travelcard/oyster card online (which be be a visitor oyster card) is unnecessary and will cost you more, visitor oyster card = £3 non refundable charge and you can't load travelcards onto it. Normal oyster card = £5 refundable deposit and you can load travelcards. Are you not interested in the 2 for 1 offers though?

Hi
Thanks so much for the good information.
My biggest problem is once I get to my hotel by taxi, how do I get to where I can buy this travel card? I see that Heathrow has a travel store, but my taxi will only wait for a certain amount time and then start charging me more money.
It seems like there are only a few places in London to buy this card, is that true?

My hotel is on Devonshire Terrace..W2 ... A short distance from Bayswater, near Hyde Park.

Are there corner stores that sell them?

We have been to London - five times. We have stayed anywhere from a week to two weeks. We have always gotten by with our Oyster card for the tube. You can buy the Oyster card at any tube station or rail station.

I don't know if the "visitor card" still exists, but we were in London earlier this month (May 2014) & got an Oyster card for 5 pounds and when we left, we got a refund for the card, as well as a refund of a couple of pounds that were left on the card, . We picked up both the Oyster card & the refund at Heathrow --by terminal 1 there's a central bus area & downstairs (where the tube is) is a place where you can buy the card). When we were there we only waited about 5 minutes in line so it didn't take long. But you can get the card (or the refund when you are done) at any tube station.

A source of help is the manned ticket booths, at Tube stations that have manned booths there's a person there to help you. There are also TfL employees (the company that operates the Underground) often standing near the turnstiles who will answer questions.

Devonshire Terrace turns into Craven Terrace, when you exit your hotel you would go to your right, at the corner you will have to cross and keep going straight on Craven Terrace. Craven Terrace will end at Bayswater Road, turn left onto Bayswater Road and walk to Lancaster Gate tube station (underground). It's a five minute walk from your hotel. You can get your travel card there. The tube is so easy to use. Have fun!!!
