Heathrow Strikes Off

A soupçon of good news - planned industrial action at Heathrow is off after a negotiated settlement. See BBC News here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-62267324

This mainly relates to British Airways, but some other airside staff have resolved their dispute too. While this doesn’t mean Heathrow will suddenly become paradise on Earth, it does mean that it is potentially less awful than it might have been. Anyway as somebody who is flying from Heathrow in the not too distant future (if the rail strikes let me get there - everything crossed!) I’m taking the announcement as a bit of good news!

it is a shred of good news - and goodness knows we need all the good news we can get

Just came through Heathrow yesterday (July 24) and I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. No delays, no lost luggage, and manageable crowds. Easy 15 minute check in process for the flight home. Did manage to score a trip through the "gold" security check line, and even there, the wait in line was about 20 minutes. The other "non gold" lines looked a lot longer, so I presume the security check waits there were much longer than 20 minutes. We arrived at Heathrow a solid 3 hours before the flight and spent most of that 3 hours shopping and relaxing. The horror stories about Heathrow, both coming and going, did not hold true for me.
