Going to London for the first time and was wondering if anyone had any travel apps that they found helpful!
Thanks in Advance!
This thread ran on the Italy forum a few weeks ago. Many of the apps will apply anywhere you travel.

citymapper for London. It will tell you step by step in real time how to get anywhere from where you are using all the transportation options and current traffic info.
Trip It
Currency Converter
City Mapper
Tube Map
Your airline’s app.
The app for any trains you’re using on your trip, mobile tickets are great.
I like Wetherspoon pubs so I have their app allowing me to order at my table and pay with Apple Pay.
Mobile passport if you don’t have Global entry, it’ll speed things up upon return to the USA
Rick Steves Audio Europe, it’s free and has walking tours, museum guides, as well as interviews.
The Visit London app can also be useful
Google Translate (just kidding)
Blue Plaques of London by English Heritage
The Westminster Abbey official audio guide (so you can listen with your own earbuds instead of having to hold the Abbey audio guide player to your ear the whole time).
Enjoy your visit
Love TripIt
Since we seem to have multiple trips in various planning stages, keeps reservation -flight, hotel, trains, tours, etc. all in the same spot. On at least one occasion, the app told me I had double booked two hotels for same night. I had used wrong dates when I booked room. 90% of reservations populate the trip details when I forward the email to Trip It. Once in a while I need to populate the details myself.
And past trips are an easy way to remember hotel names, city names, and the itinerary months later.
The RS Audio Europe app for locales RS has visited is terrific. I used Citymapper everyday when I was in London two weeks ago. I also liked UK RealTime trains app as it gave me the track #s in advance which was great to have. Currency Converter is very helpful. I also downloaded the Caffè Nero app since I went there often and liked the bonuses.
cityMapper, but be aware you need to have data for it to be useful.
Love www.VisitACity.com - it's a great website and app, and you can download your plan on your phone before you leave.
Using it to plan our time in London for early July.
cityMapper, but be aware you need to have data for it to be useful.
Once you load your travel inquiries when you have wifi, that information is available OFF LINE. Either at breakfast or the night before in my room, I'd use citymapper to plan my trips.
But using CityMapper in real time is when it proves its mettle — by advising of a delay on the metro line you were planning on taking (and recommending an alternate route) or the deviation of a bus. . . Or just simply telling you for the traffic conditions at that moment how long any of various transit means (including walking) will take.
Citymapper has already proven its mettle. If I want real-time info, I'll need to have wifi coverage whether I use citymapper or the TFL mobile website. In London, free wifi is all over the place so it's easy to get that info.
