Fabulous Tour Guide in Vienna

I recently spent a week in Vienna (December 2022), and was accompanied for a half day by a really great, personable, and highly knowledgeable person who has been conducting private tours for over 30 years. My particular interest was in the Jewish neighborhood and its history in Vienna but this guide is well versed(ie, scholarly) in the entire city and will greatly enhance your experience. Our time together was stimulating and fun, and I highly recommend him. He can be reached at walter.juraschek@gmail.com

My "over-under" for clicking on links listed in this forum is twenty posts. Any fewer and I consider that link a risk. "dinimorge" has one - and this is it.

Hi I dont really know what your post means but if anyone thinks I am a bot, I am not! And the link I posted is simply an email address for the guide I used so that someone who is interested can contact him directly Otherwise, my recommendation would be useless, no? But if someone would like to contact me through this site feel free to do so and I will provide any information that I can Thanks.

You are correct, however, that I have never posted on this site. I generally dont post but since I had difficulties finding a guide, I thought others might also need some guidance.

Folks get a little skittish about links - just post the email address without the highlighted link emphasis.

Oy and thank you but I didnt add the highlighting That's just the way it appears on the site. And although I am not an IT expert by any stretch of the imagination, I posted Walter's address, an email address, not a link, so I cant imagine it's dangerous to send someone an email. In any event, as I said before, if anyone is skittish about sending an email they can followup with me on this site. Without his address, I dont know how one would communicate with him.

Hi, dinimorge. Welcome to the forum. Thanks for the suggestion. Stick around and share some of your other travel experiences with us. Was this your first trip to Austria? Did you go to other places as part of the trip? What was something you really enjoyed about your trip (other than the tour with Walter)?

thank you for the encouragement. i'm not accustomed to posting. not my thing but i felt really fortunate in spending time with a funny, smart person, and being challenged on some of the ideas i had/have about austrian history, responsibility, etc. on this trip i spent the entire week in vienna having wanted to see the holiday markets and being willing to withstand some low temps had a wonderful time at the art museums, the ballet, the philharmonic and seeing the city at night. as a vegetarian it's a bit challenging but one manages i had been told people would be rude and i found that not to be the case: everyone was helpful and friendly. cheers.
