I have been looking up Ferry transportation from Dubrovnik to Korkula Island and found out that there is no direct route but first must go to Orebic on the mainland and then take a short (15 minute ferry) to Korkula town. Has anyone done this? I'll stay on Korkula a couple days and then return to Dubrovnik before flying home. Does anyone have suggestions of best way to get to and from Dubrovnik to Orebic and back? Bus? Private car? Also, info on what to see and do in Korkula. Restaurants? Activities? Etc. Much Appreciated. Debra

We went directly to Korcula from Dubrovnik but it was a long time ago.

The Krilo ferry goes from Dubrovnik to Korćula. It makes a stop on the way, but it is direct.

On our recent trip, we enjoyed wine tastings at several wineries on the Peljesac Peninsula with Petar Vlasic of
Dubrovnik Riviera Tours.. After stopping for a terrific lunch, Petar dropped us off at the Orebic port, where we took the short ferry to Korcula. Petar is a first rate, five star guide. While you are on Korcula I would recommend the hop on/hop off water taxi to the islands of Badija, Vrnik, and to Lumbarda (also on Korcula). The Moreska Traditional Sword Dance on Korcula is also quite entertaining. You can check online for the schedule of their performances; tickets can be purchased upon arrival in Korcula. Dinner at "Aterina" was excellent; we were fortunate enough to snag a table after a short wait, but I believe they take reservations. That would be wise, especially if you are visiting during high season.

Thank you all very much for the information. I did look up the ferry from Dubrovnik to Korkula and it was very limited service, once per day.

When are you going? In offseason the ferry service will be limited, among other things.

We will be there on May 18 - 21. Looks like there is only one ferry per day.
