Zadar B&B Recommendation

My husband and I had an enjoyable stay at Kuca Bajlo B&B in Zadar, Croatia during Oct 2013. The hosts, Griet and Anri, have a knack for hospitality. We were warmly greeted upon arrival with refreshments in their backyard, a tranquil green-space, which guests are free to enjoy. During that time, they took care to provide a map and thorough overview of the area, with plenty of suggestions to keep us active and eating delicious meals. Similar to our arrival, Griet packed delicious home-baked treats and fruit for the road and offered suggestions for onward travel-guestures which were greatly appreciated. The house and our room were modern, light and very clean, with a fresh beach feel. Although the balcony right outside our room did not offer a sea view, the entire balcony wraps around to a larger terrace with sea view, which all guests are welcome to enjoy while lounging in the comfortable chairs provided. Breakfast is an extra special treat. Options are diverse, plentiful and tastey. Healthy eaters will be delighted and less-healthy eaters will be surprised that such nutritious options could taste so good! The property is about a 25-minute easy walk into old town. Guests can also rent bikes directly from Bajlo but we enjoyed the walk. We were happy to be staying tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, rather than inside the busy old town, where there is no parking. The only slight drawback for some might be the nearby church bell tower, which sounds at 6:30 every morning. It could be slightly disturbing or quite a charming wake-up, depending upon how you choose to look at it…..it’s all a matter of perspective.
