Hi! I am looking for lodging in Rovinj. I am traveling solo, so looking for something safe, clean and economical close to the old town, as I am traveling by public transportation. Your suggestions would be most welcome! Thanks so much in advance!
There are lots of small lodgings in Croatia, including in Rovinj. A lot of them have some kitchen facilities. Some are on booking.com, so you might start there. If you are up for a small place and are a non-smoker, I atrongly suggest that you try to find a place desidnated as non-smoking throughout. Smoking is pretty prevalent in Croatia, and if you're staying in a room in someone's home, you can't tell the owner not to smoke. And if you're on the ground floor of an accommodation on the non-street side, you may find that the designated smoking area is just outside your room. The latter can also lead to noise pollution.
We stayed at Residence Porta Antica and we had a lovely room with Harbor View in their Ca del Doge annex for just over $100 per night. We were right in the old town which I loved. It was prefect and depending on what room you select and when you go, you might consider it economical.
