I don't have a specific recommendation but a general comment about restaurants in Split--many don't accept credit cards. So, bring a good amount of cash with you.
When we visited Split in 2018 the concierge from our hotel recommended Perivoj. Mediterranean cuisine. It was walking distance from our hotel. We ate outdoors in the gorgeous garden. It was one of our favorite restaurants in Croatia. We paid by credit card. http://restoran-perivoj.com/
Thanks for your recommendation. Split is amazing and I will return to try this restaurant.
I admit to only having been in the old city area of Split, but didn’t find this to be the case. In fact, I can’t remember any restaurant during my trip not offering “cash or card”, although I am sure exceptions exist.
We have just been in Split and found that most restaurants take cards but prefer cash. Most shops and restaurants in Croatia prefer cash. Any place that took cash only had signs. What we found annoying was that the smaller shops and especially bakeries, didn’t want to take 200 kuna bills ($31 or so). A few told us they had no change. Really? We weren’t there at opening time. Just another FYI.
