Trip Insurance without health care coverage?

I have a trip planned to Kenya in August. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield Global health coverage, but it doesn't cover trip cancellation, lost luggage, trip interruption, etc. Is there coverage available that covers those things without the health piece? I've searched and I can't find it.
Thank you!

You can go to a website like insuremytrip.com or squaremouth.com and select the types of coverage you'd like. You can certainly get a plan without medical.

Follow Carrie's suggestions -- It is rare for a trip cancellation policy to include health benefits. Two very different policies. A standard policy is TripGuard. But there are dozens to chose from. Trip cancellation for any reason can be expensive. Expect a premium in the range of 5 to 10% of the expenses -- risk -- that you want covered.

Maybe I'm not asking right. Every policy I find on these sites has medical expenses coverage, medical evacuation, etc. along with the trip cancellation.

In 2019, I "insured" my Hamilton tickets, I think it was through Travelguard. Since we were flying to NYC on the same day as the performance, I wanted some coverage to at least partially cover the cost of the tickets if our flight was delayed or cancelled.

Did you use an agency to arrange your trip? If so, I would start with them.

Good luck!

Here is a different tactic but I think it is an effective one. Get a Chase Sapphire Reserve Credit Card. Annual Fee of $550 ($300 back in direct credit on travel expenses, % back on rest). Charge at least some of the cost of your trip. Get coverage for the very items you are looking for. As a plus you get priority plus lounge membership which gives access to airport lounges.

Here is a link that describes the insurance coverages through the card

That last reply leads me to another question. I have a credit card through American Airlines (Barclays Aviator Red). I know it has some coverage. Is there any way to buy more coverage through them?

Your first step is to read through the specific coverage that you already have. You may have to contact them and ask for the booklet if you can’t find it online. Once you know what you actually have, then you can determine what more (if any) you need.

My experience is the opposite most all cancellation policies do include heath benefits.
Health coverage is a very small portion of the overall cost of these policies (just a few dollars a day), so most all include with the some sort of protection along with cancellation. If it's something you don't need select a policy that has medical deductibles to minimize the costs that are tacked-on.
