Tour Companies Asking for Vaccination

I wrote to a tour company to inquire about a hiking trip in Saxon Switzerland from Dresden. I did not mention COVID-19, but part of the response I got back was as follows:

We follow all the rules for Covid 19 and we are vaccinated. We want
the same from our customers.

I like it! It is well-worded!

It says “we want”, not “require” vaccinations. I would make sure all your companions are required to be vaccinated as well.

Road Scholar requires vaccinations for their small ship trips. I didn't look at their other offerings.

A good German interprets "we want" as a requirement. An American sees wiggle room. I'm wondering if when I make the reservation there will be a "bring proof of vaccination" note in the terms. I'll report back!

As an aside, a private tour does not cost much more than a group tour, so I'm planning to go with the private tour.

For Tauck it depends on the tour. Every state and country has different requirements and they are reacting to that. Also their river cruise and small ship tours have requirements from the ship operators. Example, their Hawaiian tours starting in July will require vaccinations because of state requirements. In Sep we have a tour scheduled for France and have been told we have to have proof of vaccine or a neg PCR test.

I started another thread before I read this regarding those of us with mixed doses. My first was Astrazeneca and my second was Pfizer. I wonder what the vaccine requirements are for these tours?

At present, those are the regulations in Germany, if you want to go on a tour. Either vaccinated or a neg. Covid test in the last 48 hours. No wiggle room for us. Same thing if you want to eat indoors.

Call a tour company you are interested in and ask. It may differ from company to company.
