Recovered from Covid within 90 days of travel

Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere, I couldn't find the exact topic.

My 27 y/o, 3x-vaxxed stepdaughter is currently recovering from a (mild, thankfully!) case of Covid she had this week. We are traveling to Italy with her in early July, which is just under 90 days from now.

If she has proof of having recovered from Covid within 90 days of returning to the US, does she still need to test before the return flight? I feel like I've read conflicting regulations regarding documented Covid recovery & testing.

I realize this might all be moot by July if the US drops the testing requirement.

TIA!
