QR Code on MyChart that shows vaccine status

For anyone traveling who just has the paper card, you might be interested in this. I just realized that when I log into MyChart, there is a QR code on the main page that documents in detail my vaccine status (first 2 shots and booster). You can access the QR code without even logging in (at least on mine, you can with a quick settings change). If you have an iPhone, you can add it to your regular Wallet and the Health app (I'm sure there is something similar on Androids).

I will be in Germany for a month and I'm hoping that this will be a good backup just in case the white card isn't enough.

QR codes created in the US have not been compatible with the UK standard. The print out may help but the QR code won't do anything for you. Sorry...

The QR code on your MyChart if most probably a "Smart Health Card" (SHC). They were developed by Boston Children's Hospital to encode health information (https://smarthealth.cards/en/). The idea was that you could just walk into a health care provider and just flash you QR code and they would get your current tests and vaccination status.

I've flashed my QR code to enter a play or restaurant, but to my knowledge no one has actually had an app to decode the QR code and verify its content. AKAIK, no foreign authority has officially accepted the Smart Health Cards.

I have looked at the specs for the SHCs and the European Green Pass. They encode pretty much the same thing, differently. In theory it should be possible (and pretty trivial) to build an app to scan a SHC and build the equivalent Green Pass, but again, AFAIK, no one has done it.
