We are travelling to Italy on 8/31, hopefully. How far in advance can the PLF form be completed and submitted? All of our travel arrangements have been made. Preferably I do not want to wait until the last minute in case we have problems filling out the form.
I filled it out two weeks ahead of time and the system accepted it. I did not find the form very intuitive so would advise not waiting until the last moment. My adult children were flying on different flights and I ended up walking them through the form
about a week before we departed.
Ironically our flight to JFK was delayed and we ended up going to Milan via Paris. I had to fill out a new form on the plane going into Paris. No one asked for my PLF form coming into Milan from Paris. My kids, who flew from US to Italy, were asked.
I just filled one out for our group. We're actually exempted - traveling by private car for just a few hours and not going more than 60km into Italy. But I thought better safe than sorry.
I filled it out for October - no problem. But it was kind of a hassle - I had to figure out where we were driving in - Ventimiglia was the option that finally worked although the name of the actual border crossing was something else.
I got an immediate confirmation and QR code for our group.
Thanks for your help!
Thank you, as well. We'll get started on the PLF in the next week, after we get our marinara and salsa for next year canned. A hundred pounds of tomatoes to peel, crush, and season. More tomatoes anticipated once we get to Italy in September.
