We are flying from Paris (CDG) to Calgary, Canada June 28th.
Due to WestJet canceling our evening connection flight to Portland, we're having to stay in Calgary overnight (18 hour layover). We're laving at 10am the next day.
My question is: Will we need to produce a negative Covid test in Paris... and another one in Calgary before boarding our morning flight?
If we stay at a hotel in the airport and don't leave, does that help anything?

If you test on the 28th it will still work for entry on the 29th.
like Carol says, if you can get the test the morning of your Paris flight (can be hard due to the timings) it will work on both days. if you get tested on 27th, yes you may need another one from the 28th for your Calgary flight
Our flight leave Paris at 3:15pm - I'm assuming there will be a testing facility in the airport?
Or we could test at a certified pharmacy after 10am on June 28th
Then when we board our flight to Portland from Calgary, our test results will still be valid

We're also downloading the "ArriveCan' app for the Paris - Calgary flight. Which has our vaccination info.
It can be anytime on the 28th. You do not need to wait until 10 am. It is not 24 hours, it is the day before your entry flight.
I'm looking at the return option from Paris in September. Please let us know how West Jet is. Or come to our Portland area travel group on the 3rd Saturday of the month & tell me in person!

We got a great deal on the return flight with Westjet, a little over $500 and had extra legroom seats. (booked back in January) Only problem is they canceled our evening connection flight to Portland, now we have to stay overnight in Calgary - 18 hour layover. No too happy about that.
Bart - we are flying back from Madrid via Toronto, do we need to have a negative test to enter Canada too, or just the US?

You don’t need Covid test for Canada, but you do for USA. You can do it day before you fly.
