Keeping Each Other Safe

Well, it looks like RS is going to keep all his testing requirements in place into 2023 and indefinitely beyond that. Got me wondering whether RS can show any solid health benefits on account of his COVID regimen -- such as significantly fewer COVID cases on his tours than other tour companies. He should be shouting from the rooftops if that's the case.

Of course he can't show that. He doesn't have an appropriate control group to compare it to.

And, he isn't trying to do that either. He is considering his customers, his business model and what he feels is right.

If other companies are not requiring testing, he would have no data from those companies to use for comparison. I’m sure those companies are not asking participants to report back if they get sick during (or immediately after) their tours. If they don’t care about the participants health while on the tour, they certainly don’t track it somewhere. It’s not fiscally advantageous to do so.

As always, people are free to use other tour operators if they don't agree with his precautions.

As this may be helpful for others, I'll respond to some of what was brought up.

"It looks like RS is going to keep all his testing requirements in place into 2023 and indefinitely beyond that."

This is not accurate. Protocols for 2023 have not been set yet. Stay tuned.

"Got me wondering whether RS can show any solid health benefits on account of his COVID regimen..." While I'll assume Joe is simply curious to know how effective pandemic protocols are as such data would be interesting, allow me to jump straight to the necessary conclusion of this notion as it relates to our tours. If you have doubt about CDC guidance as to how to best protect the public (which is what our protocols are based on), and/or you are unwilling to follow our protocols re being vaccinated or wearing a mask when required, etc in order to protect your health and that of others on your tour so that everyone can enjoy their tour and not get sick, then our tours may not be right for you. (I'm referring to anyone, not Joe specifically)

Per the pandemic addendum to this forum's guidelines and the protocols of our tour, the expectation is to follow those rules. As this forum is not a place to argue about the pandemic and the rules put in place to protect health, this thread is being locked to prevent that eventuality with this subject.
