If you look the world map, you'll see most countries are at a level 3 or 4. The US has been at level 4 for as long as I can remember. It's just recommendations by the CDC.

With Omicron cases doubling every 3 days, Covid infection numbers are likely to rocket everywhere.
Oh yes, the United States where the government can tell you the everyplace else is so dangerous but you can have 70,000 people in an arena in Atlanta Georgia without a mask and that’s not a problem.

@Carrie, this map is super helpful, but unless one plans to make their travel plans quickly (which might be the way to go during a pandemic) it's hard to project where these countries will be in the future. I feel lucky that we went to Europe when we did (late Aug/early Sept. 2021), but it went so well I am ready to plan another trip! Sigh.
