The BinaxNOW antigen test I took in Venice in August had an expiration date of October 28,2021. I bought it mid-August from Optum health online. I can’t answer the question directly because I don’t know when my test was first issued.

Binax now has an extended expiration date of 1 year from the date of manufacture. That date is listed on the label.

Our local health department is giving these out free of charge. The expiration date on the box is May, 2022.

One quick note. I know the Binax Now home test has two different versions. (I don't know much about Ellume). One is a proctored test via video connection and one is a home test done without a proctor. Only the proctored version is acceptable to meet antigen testing requirements for travel (airlines, cruises, etc). I am suspicious that those being given away for free by the health department may be the unproctored version.

My point is to make sure that the version that you are planning to use for a trip is an authorized version that included the video proctoring. It would be a shame to find yourself in a last minute crisis because you accidentally had the wrong version.

I’m aware of the need for proctored testing for travel. I bought a BinaxNow just so hubby could visit is 95 year old mom. I looked on the box but saw no exp. date. I sent it with him ( out of state) and told him to follow the directions. I want to buy the travel test kits but can’t find them in stock anywhere where I live. Same with online. I have to admit I only checked Amazon and the National pharmacies we have here where I live.
