European websites blocked?

New to European travel, and I'm having an issue that many safe and known websites are not coming up on my computer. We purchased a VPN, thinking that it was the issue, but they still aren't coming up for us. Can anyone shed light on this? Thanks.

Chrystal, can you be more specific which websites you're trying to access? For instance, I know that there are some for attractions in Italy that only come up during the hours, Italian time, that the attractions are open.

Based on your previous two posts, you're not going to be traveling until summer of 2025 so are not currently abroad.

That happens to me occasionally, and sometimes it's because I'm in the US. VPNs may help but many sites are now designed to recognize and ignore VPNs, so that could be the issue.

You also might try opening the site in another browser. I mostly use Chrome but it can be glitchy sometimes, so if that happens, I just use another browser like Firefox, and half the time, the problem is fixzed.

Disable your VPN and check if the problem persist.

It sounds like they bought the VPN because of the problem.

Try using your phone on Cellular data instead of WiFi. I am unable to access Trenitalia website and app when I use WiFi (Cox) but no problems on cellular data.

Ooh, Horsewoofie. I've heard that Cox can cause some problems. :O(
