We are currently traveling in the EU. A what if scenario: the EU is considering restricting travel to the EU for US citizens. If this happens, any thoughts on what would happen to US citizens in the EU if that would happen? Thanks
This has been covered numerous times over the weekend on this forum. You won’t be banned and sent home immediately.
However, flights are likely to get cancelled and you maybe heading home prematurely. This has happened to U.K. citizens away in Europe over the past year with countries moving between the green, amber and red lists.
Don't worry about it. The chances of them kicking you out while you are there is minimal.
There will be plenty of flights. Even if they do say you have to leave, flights won't get cancelled. If anything, more will be added.

Well, consider if the OP is going to be crossing borders on this trip, he may find he is barred to enter another country that changes its rules of entry...not the same as being "kicked out" of a country you are already in, but the scenario I suggested is not out of the question.
Thank you for the responses. I’ll keep you posted once they make the decision. We still have around 10 days left and three EU countries to visit.
We’re here now too, two weeks left. Will just see what each country does. We’re vaccinated. There are testing sites everywhere if they add that. We just have 2 more countries
We’ve been in Germany since August 3 and we will leave September 14 and we have to show our CDC cards to get into our hotels and to eat inside all restaurants but they accept our CDC cards and I doubt we’ll be asked to leave. The on and off again train strikes have been more of a problem than we expected but we’re trying to stay flexible.
