Entry to Spain for tour

I’m having a hard time deciphering the information re; Covid 19 vaccination proof for travelers from the US vs EU members on the Spanish Government website. Is my CDC card considered ‘an equivalent” and acceptable or do I have to get the QR code??

You have to get the QR code, which is easy to do via the app 72 hours before arrival. It'll take less than 5 minutes, and the QR code is generated automatically.

Personal experience - the Spain app is not that easy to use but we did get through it and got the QR code. Printed it out so we didn't have to fumble with our phones. We arrived in Barcelona airport on July 22. The instructions on the app said to follow the signs to get clearance. There were no signs and no checks (I think it said green signs, but whatever).. We proceeded straight to baggage claim and then out of the terminal with our printed clearance forms in hand with no checks whatsoever. Note that we were coming from Frankfurt and had gone through EU immigration there. Don't know if that made a difference or not.

On the SPTH website you click the blue “Do not have an EU Digital COVID Certificate “ and continue from there.

You can start it anytime, but it cant be completed until 72 hours before you travel, as mentioned already.

Traveling into Spain from the U.S., Yes, you will need the QR code. Here is the link to the Spanish Travel Health Website where you can find the questionnaire:
https://www.spth.gob.es/

I suggest completing the questionnaire on your computer, not with the phone app because it is cumbersome.

Once you complete the required form, a QR code will be generated which you can either print out (as mentioned by someone else) or email it to yourself and then download it to your phone so you have it handy. I would do both.

Keep in mind that you must have had a vaccine or booster within 9 months of entry.
