Covid test—when would you do it on this itinerary?

The end of our trip in September we will be in Ljubljana Slovenia on a Sunday, and fly that Monday morning to Paris. We are then in Paris on Monday afternoon, all day Tuesday and then leave early Wednesday for flight back to US. So, would you test that Sunday in Ljubljana or wait and test Monday in Paris? Concerned that if we somehow got a false positive on a rapid antigen and then need time to take the more accurate PCR that 1 1/2 days in Paris is cutting it close.

I am not a medical doctor, so I may be wrong. I am, though, the mom of two elementary-aged kids who (thankfully) never got COVID (knock wood) but did have several class exposures that necessitated COVID tests. Our local public health officials told us that you are likely to get a false negative with the antigen test, but false positives are rare. This was back in November during our first (of three...It was a looong school year) class quarantines, so maybe the science or tests have changed. Basically, she told us to get the PCR tests because they were more accurate. If we got the antigen test and it tested negative, they still liked to do a PCR test, just to make sure. But if you tested positive with the antigen test, you definitely had COVID.

Again, if this has changed, please correct me. But it's a long way of saying - Get tested when and where it's most convenient, and don't worry about the false positive.

and of course what you think might be a false positive may well be an actual positive... the PCR will tell....

I hope you all stay well, but with the huge spikes currently that may be more difficult...

Are all people in your party vaccinated? If so, then you could do the test in anywhere within three days of your departure. As you stated, I personally would get it sooner than later. If all parties are not vaccinated, then you will also need a negative Covid test to fly from Slovenia to Paris.

We’re both vaccinated. Thanks for tips. We wanted to wait to get rested in Paris because then we would be in their system for the two days but weren’t sure about false positives, sounds like that’s our best bet.
