Certificate of recovery -Dublin

We are traveling on United to Scotland and Ireland, returning from Dublin in mid-July. If we test positive the day before we leave, I know we need to quarantine for 10 days from the positive test or onset of symptoms. Then we need a certificate of recovery to travel home. The Irish Health Services Executive website states that you cannot apply (online) for the certificate of recovery until 11 days after the positive test, and then it could take another 5 days to get the certificate. That means we could be stuck for 16 days. But I spoke with United, and they said they will accept a certificate of recovery from either a public health agency (ie, the Irish HSE) or a private doctor. Getting it from a private doc could save several days. My question - has anyone had any sucess getting a certificate of recovery from a private doctor ? If so, what was the cost ? Just tying to plan ahead for the worst. Thanks in advance.

Wow, lots of stuff there to digest. I'll look into my doctor here (hadn't thought of that) and the online services. Thanks.

Hi,
You can use quickMD. They will issue a certificate of recovery on your tenth day. You can then fly. We used them a few weeks ago. Flew AerLingus to the US.

Thanks Camille and Gail. I’m addition to Quickmd, I found out that one of the labs near my hotel (Travel Safe) will also provide a certificate of recovery 10 days after the positive test, as long as I took the test there. So at least I know we have options if the worst happens.

Remember to take your passport with you to get tested. That info goes on your test results.

If you were to test positive, that day is day 0. The next day is day one. You can get the letter on day 10 as long as you have been symptom-free for 5(?) days. You can then fly home the following day.

camille- what was the process like with quickmed for your recovery letter? What all did you have to show them and did they give you the letter in a pdf or as a QR code?

According to their website QuickMD will only accept appointment after 10 days have passed after one tested positive or with symptoms (day 0); the person has recovered or is asymptomatic. You will have to provide them your Positive Test Report; if you take the Home Test with teleproctor (e.g. BinaxNow with eMED) you could send them the NAVICA pass QR code.

So you can only get your Documentation of Recovery from QuickMD on Day 11; and maybe fly home on Day 12. Flying home on Day 11 is possible but will be stressful as you need to make sure you get the document before your flight.

QuickMD charges $75 for Documentation of Recovery (the appointment included). If for some reason you are not able to get the document then they don't charge you. They have a mobile app.
