any experience being covid positive and disembarkation in Civataveccia?

I'm trying to lay out the contingency plans. Four of us are vaxed but not boosted (various reasons not looking for a debate) and we will be required to test at the port the day of embarkation and before we can disembark (RCL is also making us test before Greece ports too even though there are no requirements there...) In any case, if we test positive at the front or back end, what happens? Are we reported to Italian gov't and sent to gov't quarantine facility or are we allowed to make our own arrangements? I'm almost ready to pull the plug on the cruise portion.... and I'm hoping and praying Italy will drop the test requirement for the non-boosted. (RCL also won't take a letter of recovery which we would have but our 180th day is the day before disembarkation anyway....)

Is Civa.... end of cruise? Contact RCL see what their plan is if you test positive. If cruise members are testing positive RCL would have to have some plan or at least recommendations in place for that situation. Doubt if there is much experience on this site with your exact question.

All of the posters who have reported on their experiences with testing positive in Italy seem to have reported that they had options on where to stay during their isolation/quarantine. Some have stayed in government designated hotels and others have made their own arrangements.

I was curious and looked up the RCL policy and noted for those that are in your category (2nd dose more than 270 days ago, no booster) that all of the onboard and disembarkation tests that are required are at your cost. I can see why you are wondering if cruising is still something that you want to do.

I hope that you find the answer that is the best one for you and your particular situation.

Good ideas- haven't been able to get an answer from RCL -- customer service agents don't know what's happening in the field I suppose. I also want to add- the only reason I haven't ditched the cruise component is that it's my daughters graduation trip with her friend. She specifically wanted a RCL cruise as part of the equation. I think she's low key terrified of having to spend 14 days with her parents and not much time doing their thing (which is what would happen in the evenings on the cruise portion.) So that is why I'm continuing with the mental gymnastics with this whole thing. It's not the cost of the tests- its all the emotional turmoil before each one!!!
