Any COVID pre-test issues?

Has anyone had pre-test issues after having to fly with a plane of unmasked people to your EU tour, while being fully masked the entire trip, and then tested negative upon arrival for your tour? Hopefully this is not an issue, but seems that the testing still in place for the tours when we're among unmasked people the whole ride over in an airplane is a bit challenging. We would hate for it to affect our tour status. We won't be eating on the plane, so as to avoid catching COVID en route. Are we being too cautious? Discuss. Rolling with it as best we can...

I suppose the key issue here is timing. How many days in advance of your tour will you be arriving? Even if you were exposed to Covid on the plane, there is an incubation period. Most people who might test positive on the pre-tour test would have had their exposure prior to traveling unless they are arriving several days prior to their tour.

I think that you can do what you can do. Wear your mask and do your best.

You are not being too cautious. You are being smart. We will be doing the same. Just wear a good fitting mask and not the surgical kind of cloth. Use an N 95, KN 94 and the like.

Thanks both. We’ve been doing all that for some time, and sounds like folks are not having issues. We arrive early and look forward to the fun!

I think it’s just hit or mis… One person tested positive the evening after our tour started. Then others tested positive toward the end and after the tour as well. It seems some tours are hit hard and others not at all. Even thought we masked, most other people are did not. I was in a few countries before and after the tour. A lot of people were out and about with allergies/colds/Covid with no masking.

Several people on our tour tested positive after the tour ended but not before or during the 8 day Ireland tour (last week of May). Many of us having enjoyed a few days in London/Dublin/Galway/Aran etc. prior to our tour.

Rick Steves requires a self administered covid test before starting a tour. Who monitors this test.

@ Dale. You perform the test yourself and report the test result by either showing the test itself or a photo of the test to the tour guide.

We flew Lufthansa to the start of our BOEE tour in June and I was so happy that they still required masking for all passengers and staff, as I had the same concern. Made me feel better about the start of our tour and we all tested negative. Come to that, we all made it to the end of our tour in Lake Bled.
