Air Canada Vacations Future Travel Credit

I had a trip booked with Air Canada Vacations in January 2022, but due to Covid, I needed to cancel the trip. I received a partial refund to my credit card, with the balance issued as a travel credit. The terms and remarks of the credit say:

-Trip must be rebooked and completed by December 31, 2023
-Any unused funds will be kept on file until expiry
-The credit is transferable
-Any additional difference in fare will be charged upon rebooking
-Future travel credit is for the amount paid

With that said, I don't have any plans to book with Air Canada Vacations and am considering transferring the credit to a friend. Does anyone have any experience with this type of credit?

Can I simply call AC Vacations to have them transfer the credit to my friend's name? And I presume that they will re-issue the credit to my friend instantly; or will it take additional time? I'm trying to get the credit transferred to him as quickly as possible.

He also has an existing trip booked with AC Vacations with the final payment due in April. If I transfer my credit to him, will he be able to apply it towards the final payment for his trip? Or does this credit need to be used to make a brand new booking?

Or, can an AC Vacations credit be transferred to Air Canada so that I can book flights on AirCanada.com?

Any insight or guidance would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I don't have the answer to any of these questions, but I know who has the answer to all of them...

Air Canada Vacations.

Agree that you will only get reliable answers by calling ACV. However, I can answer your last question. ACV credits can not be used to purchase AC tickets.

I'd suggest asking Air Canada Vacations - they will have the answers at their fingertips I expect.

If time is important then calling them right away will move it along the quickest..
