Does anyone have a recent experience with and recommendation for a company that offers religious (Roman Catholic) based tours? I'm aware of the physical challenges of narrow, slippery, crowded streets, so if you've got experience with a company that accommodates older tourists, that would be a bonus.
Wanderlust58, here is a similar thread from last week: christian tour
Repeating what I said there, there are usually ads every week in my parish bulletin or the diocese newsletter for companies specializing in this.
Thanks for letting me know about this Stan. I searched the forums before posting, but clearly I did not enter the correct magic combination of words to find it. I may have specified Roman Catholic when I searched, though, so maybe that's the reason for my coming up with nothing related.
I specified Roman Catholic because, as my husband explained, "Christian" tours and RC tours sometimes do not cover the same sites (but I don't know what differences he was referring to) and he wants an RC religious experience (daily Mass, etc) as part of his trip.
You are correct to look for Roman Catholic tours if you want a daily mass. That won't happen on Evangelical tours. They have communion services occasionally and teachings at the site. Most information is the same, but there are some sites that center around Mary that evangelicals would likely not go to.
