Rick- Talk on Current American Politics - 26 April in Seattle

On 26 April at St Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, Seattle at 6pm, Rick is giving a talk entitled-

The Traveler and the Bishop on the State of America's Democracy and Christian Nationalism

Entrance is free but registration will be required closer to the time. It will also be livestreamed on the Cathedral website and Facebook page.

To quote from this week's Cathedral Pew Sheet-

Join Rick Steves for a European take on Trump and American democracy (basically his “No Kings” rally speech, updated and with an indoor voice). Then, Lutheran Bishop Shelley Bryan Wee (ELCA) will share a hard look (inspired by scripture) at the perversion of Christianity called “Christian Nationalism.” Rick’s talk will share how history is speaking to us — and how, if we listen, we can better understand and meet the challenges facing democracy in the USA. And, whether you consider yourself a person of faith or not, Bishop Shelley’s message will bring a new dimension to your thinking about the place of religion in the political discourse of our country.

I've heard Bishop Shelley preach or give talks a number of times now, and she is always thought provoking.

So this may interest some in the PNW.

Hi, I'm closing the thread. Obviously it's Rick's name on the website, but we also know that politics doesn't work in the scope of this forum. If you're interested in what Rick has to say, and again since his name is on the website, I'm leaving the OP up so that you can find out more outside of the forum. That's as far as it goes here. Fwiw discussing politics is more accepted on his Facebook page.

Thanks, everyone.
