Egypt Land and River Guided Tours

I'm looking for recommendations for land and river guided tours in Egypt in early 2024. Thanks!

We'll be taking a river cruise through AmaWaterways in December with a post-cruise extension to Israel. Our friends recently returned from a similar trip on Viking and they had a great time. We chose Dec for the cooler weather; they traveled in late May and said it was hot. There's a Facebook group for Ama (and probably other cruise lines) that you may want to peruse for first-hand reports.

Right now I am watching R S visiting Egypt on PBS. I do not know how old it is but it is very interesting and informative. He has a guide in Alexandria and you might be able to get the name of the guide or his company by accessing this video / documentary.

I am hoping that members on this site will be able to give you the information you want.

I will be in Egypt also in 2024 but on a. cruise and I will be taking shore excursions.

You might go to Egypt Visitors site for further information or Trip Advisor. There are probably some excellent guide books with helpful information.

This program will repeat on PBS 5 pm Central Time

You might want to make a decision soon. I signed up for the Odysseys Unlimited Egypt tour for early 2024 a few months ago, and my first choice date was full.

I have been to Egypt three times, the last time Jan 2023 on a 14 day tour with Gate 1 Tours.

The tour was fantastic and included five star hotels in Cairo, a 4.5 star hotel in Aswan, a 3 day river cruise from Aswan to Luxor and a three day cruise on Lake Nasser (visiting Abu Simbel and other ancient places.

Be sure that you compare several tour companies. Before I purchase our tour with Gate 1, I looked at Viking, Odyssey, AMA Waterways and others.

Our tour INCLUDED free airfare from JFK NY to Cairo and return. Cost was about $3500 pp and that includes us taking all of the optional tours offered. When I priced Viking, their price for a very similar tour was almost DOUBLE the price for Gate 1.
