We are traveling Salzburg, Halstatt, Graz, and Vienna looking for restaurants recommendations for party of 6 (4 adults and two children). Avoiding seafood due to allergies. Would be very appreciative of suggestions.
Also random question but if anyone knows if you can purchase Powerade in Austria? Thank you!
Two places in Salzburg that we had great meals were Zwettlers and Johaneskellar. Both of these would be find for kids, Zwettler's a bit more so.
You can get Powerade in supermarkets, e.g. BILLA.
Do a google search for Figlmullers in Vienna. They have two locations. We really enjoyed the food. You sould be able to tell from your on line search if you think it's ok for the kids. In Halstatt we had a good dinner at the Hotel Gruner Baum. We had fish, but they did have other things on the menu.
Edited to add: Things must have changed recently as we didn't have to stand in line or wait at all.
Figlmüller is overrun by tourists who have to wait in a long line outside. Same is true for Schnitzelwirt.
Both places were very traditional in former times, but no local would ever stand in line.
In Salzburg, Die Weiss is delicious. We also all had fun at Augustiner Brau, which is a huge beer hall and has many different food stalls.
Also if you need a quick meal option in the historic center, we actually loved Burgerista. It’s just an order-at-the-counter option but the fries were great and my son declared it his favorite burger ever.
Thank you all for your recommendations! We plan on returning and will make reservations way ahead next time but still had great food
In Salzburg we ended up last night at Pitter Kellar which was delicious!
