Our two couples will be in Vienna Sept 28-Oct 6. Can you recommend a Heurige that is not frequented by large tour groups, something more authentic and less touristy ?

Visited the above recently, very pretty setting and short walk from public transit. Tour buses come to some heurigen in the area but not Zimmerman, was all Austrians except for my family.
Thanks, Hank, for the Weinhof Zimmerman recommendation. We went there yesterday and it was exactly what we were looking for. Great ambiance and scenery; full of locals, but extremely gracious hosts to a couple of American tourists.
Sweet! I love being able to help, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's just remarkable how pretty the wine country in the Vienna city hills is. In my mind it's as beautiful as the Willamette valley for instance. Thanks for posting, I enjoyed the little jolt of happy memories it sparked
