Flies at hotel Gutshof Zum Schluxen

Hello,
We are thinking of staying at Schluxen in August of this year, and wondered if anybody could comment on the fly issues that I've read about in reviews. Is this something that is really bad in August, or is it just a couple of people that are overly sensitive to a few bugs flying around? Aside from this issue, it sounds like a great place, and it would be nice to be able to bike/walk to Neuschwanstein.
Thank you in advance,
Jay

Yes, but they were talking about May not August. Here in Chicago, we have many pest that are troublesome for short periods of time. We get lots of ants in the spring, and lots of crickets in the late summer. These are problems both in and out of the house, but only last for a few weeks. Right now the ants are just starting. I wouldn't imagine that flies would ever be a problem in May.

Most of the Alpine foothills are dairy farming area. Dairy = cows and cows = flies. I would not be surprised to see flies there.

Have you read the 144 reviews on Trip Advisor? I don't know this place, but after reading through a few, it seems to me that this place doubles as a horse farm, so of course there will be flies in the summer.

Having stayed at this place several times, I really liked it and the setting was beautiful. There were flies, and as Lee mentioned, it is farming country so you will find flies regardless if you stay at Schluxen or somewhere else in the vicinity.

I've stayed twice in Pfronten, just up the rail line from Reutte, in Germany, and I didn't encounter flies. Pfronten is cow country (they have an annual "Viehscheid") but maybe because the cows were on the mountain slopes at the time - no flies.

I lived in rural Pennsylvania, across the street from a field with cows, and, if you went over to see them, they were covered with flies, but we didn't have any at the house.
