Shows on Slovakia and Romania

Hello everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone knew why Rick has not done episodes on Slovakia or Romania yet. I am part Slovakian and would like to visit there someday. It would be nice to have a program that takes viewers around Bratislava and or around the different regions highlighting Slovakian culture.

I am also very interested in the castles of Romania, the Dracula legend that comes from Transylvania, and also some other regions. It would be nice to have an episode that shines a light on how one can get around this more remote part of Europe as well as the city of Bucharest.

Thank you!

Rick's business focus is on the core of Europe, places that he himself can revisit frequently, and that the majority of travelers want/need to learn about. For Rick to invest time and money into making TV shows, that effort also has to be useful for his guidebooks and tours. Those two countries are not among Rick's personal favorites and the market of interested travelers is also small. You could plan a good visit using other guidebook resources, such as Lonely Planet. When Rick's TV shows have ventured to Iran, Israel, and Palestine, those destinations don't fit the mold, but his motive was public service and information.

Sarahpaterra if you are still around and if you are interested in visiting Slovakia and Romania let me know and I will try and help you plan the trips.

Romania and Slovakia I think very much represent the "Back Door" philosophy.

I am a capitalist and I support that concept.

Agian, I always sort of thought avoiding where all the tourist go was somehow part of the RS Back Door philosophy?

Interesting. I missed the Public Service Announcement on Iran.
