Good to see that a successful businessman is contributing to the community in a more useful way than employing a construction crew to build a $15 million waterfront home.

( Now I know what happened to the smog test station)

Thanks for sharing, Mike. Wish this could get huge coverage and encourage some who are even more wealthy to do good works.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Mike! This is really a wonderful thing to do and this is how it should be. Kudos to Rick for stepping in and also ensuring that the foundation was part of the process, which I think is great. Anyone can write a check but he seems to go the extra mile and really participates in the process.

Way to GO, Rick!
While the vast majority of us can't come up with the amount he has for his community, every little bit helps for our own. Please follow the example and spread as much comfort and joy as possible this holiday season!

I agree with everything Mardee said. He is not only generous, but he puts thought behind his philanthropy. His days as a young backpacker taught him how good a shower and clean clothes can make you feel. Thanks, Rick, for leading by example and teaching me more than just how to be a better traveler.

I heard about this yesterday.
Wonderful news, thank you Rick.
Do we have hope that some other wealthy people might follow in his footsteps?

Rick doesn’t just keep on travelin’ … he keeps on giving. Whether it’s this hygiene center, public television, Bread for the World, ACLU, or Washington state’s Faith Action Network.

Some blame boomers in general for the affordability crisis and a legacy of greed that limits possibilities for millennials and zoomers. Look no further than Rick to see a lot of good that a number of boomers and ex-hippies have done to make the world a better place.

Thank you, Rick!
