Our cruise stopped in Istanbul in March in GalataPort. We walked to the Tophane tram stop. There was a machine to put money on an IstanbulKart, but it did not seem to issue the card. We will be going back in the fall and want to use the tram this time. Does anyone know where we can get a card either in the port/pier or near the tram stop? Also, can all 3 of us use the same card by passing it back to the next person in line once each one goes through the turnstile?

I didn’t buy mine at that tram stop
But the first 50tl you put in the machine is the cost of the card itself
Each tram ride is 10tl
Ferry is 20tl
Put in as much as you anticipate using
Easy to add $$tl
On the left side of the machine’s screen scroll to the British Flag for directions in English
