I'm planning for a trip to turkey in May of next year (2023). The current, 8th edition, book is from 2020. Does anyone know when the next edition of the book is due to come out? If it's early 2023, I'll get the new one. Otherwise, I'm looking to start underlining and highlighting this edition.

The easiest way I’ve found is to check in the online store here. For the Istanbul guidebook it looks like fall 2024. Check under details on the link.
Nadine, the guidebook update page shows that the next update is scheduled for Fall 2024. You may be able to contribute to the update by then!

Nadine, the content I found to be most changed from what's in the 8th edition, likely due to changes for COVID, was the visit information for Dolmabahçe Palace. My Turkey trip report has an entry with the new information at the time of my visit this May.
