We are considering joining a trip to Turkey that is Nov 22 - December 4. I love to travel off season, but concerned that the weather might be pretty cold. Any tips or advice for visiting Turkey at this time? Would it be better to try to go in October?
Turkey’s weather in November/ December varies depending on which part of the country you’re traveling to. It’s been known to snow in Istanbul and Cappadocia in December with respective December average daytime highs of 51 degrees and 47 degrees. While some parts of the Turkish coast are warmer—Antalya for example — the ocean temperature is 67-70 degrees in December—relatively warm but not really inviting when the average December air temperature high is 62 degrees. October is much better: 68 average daytime high in Istanbul; 70 degrees in Cappadocia ( 41 at night); and 80 degrees in Antalya with water temperature at 77 degrees.
Now, that, is close to perfect for a vacation.
Thanks for reply. I think I’ll spend a little more and go on October.
