Visa for Turkey

I am booked on a RS tour in May. His planning docs say I need a visa and to go to evisa.gov.tr which I did and started an application. After I put my start date in Turkey in it came back and said "you are exempt from visa for tourist vists of up to 90 within 180 days starting from the fist entry date."

So I don't need a visa? Thank you!

That's right. Unless you have some unusual need (diplomat? spy? international woman of mystery?) ordinary American tourists (traveling on a standard US passport) no longer need a visa for a quick trip to Turkey. Hooray, that'll save you fifty-ish bucks (which is good, because many of the top tourist spots recently jacked up their entry prices quite a bit to compensate for significant inflation.

The government giveth by revoking the visa requirement and its cost.
And the government taketh away by sharply hiking the admission prices for foreigners at Istanbul’s top 5 attractions!
