Several years back, they adjusted the value between old Turkish Lira and New (Yeni) Turkish Lira. $1 US = 2 lira, so divide prices in half to estimate dollars. I have seen some unscrupulous vendors quote rates that didn't work out to a fair price in either the old or new system (e.g., a simple shirt for 400 lira outside of Ephesus).
