Hi, I am joining the Rick Steve Tour for 2 weeks in Turkey in September. We finish in Izmir and I am considering a boat to Greece afterwards but not sure what would be the best way to spend 4-5 days. Want to spend some time in Athens and fly back home from there. Any suggestions?

According to Direct Ferries: https://www.directferries.com/ from Izmir there is only one ferry and it’s to Thessaloniki.

The RS tour ends in Kusadasi. The tour provides transportation to Izmir.
You can take a ferry from Kusadasi to Samos Island. Spend time on Samos and then fly to Athens. Your tour leader can assist you in purchasing ferry tickets. No need to purchase in advance.
