I am taking the best of Turkey tour and because of Covid and the possibility of quarantine I am considering travel insurance for the first time.
Anyone have any thoughts on the brand suggested on this web site. And what coverage is best.

I am taking this tour too and considered travel insurance and spent a little bit of time reviewing the various options for coverage. There are limitations and deductibles. Since my biggest expense is the cost of the tour itself, and RSE gives a prorated refund, my financial exposure is limited to extra nights in hotels and meals. So in the end I decided to "self-insure". Your risk tolerance may be different.
Thank you for your thoughts on self insure. I have never canceled or changed a flight so have no idea what the cost may be. Also I have never needed medical help when in another country all I know is my coverage being Medicare is no help.
I always self-insured in the past, but that didn't work well when I tested positive for covid a week before my RS tour in April and I was not able to travel to Europe.
There are lots of posts with travel insurance info, including this one with links to 2 places that compare companies.
We buy travel insurance for European travel. The past three RS tours we used World Nomads. Haven’t had need you use it, but it brings peace of mind. For “Trip Interruption “, “Lost Luggage” “trip delay “ trip cancellation”

To assess my insurance risk, I research the cost of a one way flight from my European departure airport back home for, say, 7-10 days from now - a typical quarantine timeframe. It's not perfect, but gives me a ballpark of what I'd have to pay to change my flight home, less the value, if any, that can be applied from my original ticket and adjusting for any fees.
Travel Guard and Allianz have both been reported as paying claims for covid related issues this summer. The process isn't always trouble free or quick, but they have paid out.
Allianz, If you want to make sure that your claim goes through you need to make sure to notify the insurance company when you test positive, get an "official test" (this could be at a pharmacy or proctored home test), keep every receipt, and have patience.
Do you have any additional coverage with Medicare besides A and B? Often supplemental coverage may provide some medical coverage overseas.
Carol's point is a good one. If you have a Medicare supplement plan like I do (not Medicare Advantage) you may have $50,000 in lifetime coverage for emergency medical care overseas. Check your plan for details.
Thanks I will check my supplemental plan for coverage.
