Is the Istanbul card only good for I person or can a couple share it?

I believe if you get a regular Istanbulkart you can share if there is a turnstile/gate on a tram stop or on a bus. Tap one person through the turnstile, hand the card back to the second person and they tap through. Or tap twice on a bus for two fares. I don't think you can share one on the metro though due to how they price rides. Other tourist type passes you can't share, this only applies to the Istanbulkart (the red one).
You can use contactless credit card or phones to pay for transit which may be easier - no need to buy an Istanbulkart and load it up at a machine. There are some recent posts in the forum about how this works.

We shared one card when we were there in October.
Our hotel gave us the card, we topped it up and my husband tapped and went through, then he tapped again and I came through.
It worked very well.

We shared one red IstanbulKart in Dec 25. No issues on any form of transit. Rides cost less than $1 USD about 35 TL. Reloading was easy Kiosks had an English language option I needed. Also once I needed an Istanbulkart for a public restroom, but I bet a credit card would have worked. Also have some cash as well as a card.
