hello all
i m going to antalya for 5 days,,
i m unsure what would be cheaper,,(the local sim card or
an e-sim)??
i m fine with having 5GB of data, and i dont need minuites.so
what do u recommend ..?
Some factors:
- how comfortable are you with technology? You would install and provision the e-sim on your own most likely. With a local sim, you could walk into a store and someone might install it for you, or at least assist.
- assume you know that your phone supports e-sim and/or has a second slot?
- do you need text capability? Text and voice are usually bundled, but you say you don't need minutes, so are you foregoing voice completely, or have another way to deal with it?
I doubt cost is a major issue; your needs appear to be small at first glance, but a bit more
info would confirm.
thanks for ur kind reply
yes i know how to use the e-sim. it is simple to use and my cost me around 350 TL. my question ,will a local sim card be cheaper than this?
I think local SIMs usually are a bit cheaper, based on prices reported here (though not for Turkey), but I have no experience buying them. One advantage of buying an eSIM from a company you've done business with previously is that you'll probably be (justifiably) confident of receiving clear instructions for downloading and activating the eSIM. If you buy a physical SIM from a local provider in Turkey, are you sure you'll be able to get assistance on the set-up from someone who speaks English well? I've traveled in Turkey, and I wouldn't be totally confident of that.
There's also the fact that 350 TL is not very much money (less than $8.50 US). Even if a local SIM is as much as 1/3 less, you will have saved less than the equivalent of $3 US. I am not one to say that small amounts don't matter, because there are lots of small amounts happening when you travel, and they can add up. However, I'd weigh the likely extra (modest) cost of an eSIM from a known provider against my uncertainty about getting a local SIM installed. But that's just how I'd look at this; others may be confident in voting for the local SIM because they've used them.
eSIM anyday.
I've used BNESIM last two years -- works fine and very cost effective.
private message me if you need details.
thanks all
