Hi. I will need to buy a set of hiking poles after arriving Istanbul because I really don’t want to check luggage on the flight there and poles are not allowed as carryon items and I’ll need them for hiking. Does anyone know of a store in the greater Istanbul metro area where I might find such an item for sale? I searched around and found Powell and toptanspormalzemeleri but my Turkish language reading skills are lacking and can’t find an item such as this. Thanks in advance.

There are multiple retail locations of Columbia Sportswear in Istanbul that may carry them.

I asked the front-desk guy at my Istanbul hotel, and he recommended Decathlon. If you're staying near Istiklal Caddesi, the store in the Istiklal Mall (at #50) will be convenient. I haven't been there myself and can't guarantee it has hiking poles.
